As the parent of a CKST swimmer, you are more than a spectator; you are a vital and irreplaceable member of our team. Staging a swim meet requires numerous workers doing various jobs. You are essential to running a well organized and efficient swim meet.

To help us encourage every family to do their share in meet operation, we require a “Parent (non) Participation Fee” or “PPF” deposit of $150 per family. If your family completes the required 6 shifts, your check is returned at the end of the season. Your check will only be cashed at the end of the season should you choose not to participate.

Each Family is required to work a minimum of 6 shifts. Each PPF shift is approximately 2 hours long. We will have a minimum of three (3) home meets and two (2) away meets.

    • Home meets require help with set up, timing, heating, concessions, data entry, and clean up. Please see PPF Duties and Responsibilities for description of tasks.
    • Away meets require help with timing.
    • Specialty meets require help with timing.
      • These meets include Ken Caryl  Invitational, Pentathlon, C/D Meet, Last Chance, League, and State.
    • PPF shifts will be available via a account that will be sent to parents via email after the parent meeting. Sign-ups are a first-come first-serve basis so sign up early to get the shifts you want.
    • If you have signed up for a PPF shift and cannot make it, you are responsible for finding yourself a replacement. With the use of you are able to remove yourself. Please do this by Tuesday so that others can fill last minute openings as necessary.
    • Each weeks PPF sign up sheet will be printed from and posted on the bulletin board Thursday mornings prior to the meet.
    • Other opportunities may be available for PPF’s at the request of the board. They will be added to as needed.
    • If you need to reschedule or find additional shifts to work, check often.
